The Zombie Opera returns to Jersey City this Saturday (October 28). Presented by Half Light Productions, the Zombie Opera started as a modest Halloween celebration on the stoops of Jersey Avenue during the height of the pandemic. Since its inaugural 2020 show, it has grown into a full performance pulling audiences of over 2,500 people.
To better accommodate attendees, the Zombie Opera will be held at Hamilton Park this weekend. The show starts at 6pm and wraps up at 8pm. Admission is free. (Food vendors will be available starting at 4pm).
The cast consists of highly-acclaimed opera singers who in the past have performed scenes from operas including Faust, La Traviata, La Boheme, Carmen, Rigoletto, and more. Last year, the Zombie Opera featured a chamber orchestra and choir consisting of students from New Jersey City University and the local community.
The Zombie Opera will be directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker and founder of Half-Light Productions, Catriona Rubenis-Stevens. The show was founded in 2020 in Jersey City by Molly Dunn and Rubenis-Stevens.

Back for its fourth consecutive year, the Zombie Opera will be held in Hamilton Park and feature professional opera singers. The show’s theme is 80s Prom: Return of the Singing Dead. It’ll be directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Catriona Rubenis-Stevens.
